Hej Hello! Long time no see, well here we are a few days after the beginning of this journey. I’m currently laying in bed in Paris so far I’m not super impressed about the city but only been here for an evening! But without further delay let’s get right into it!
Amsterdam, the first stop of the destination but probably the place that I’ll have the most issue getting to. Tons of delays and short transfers left us “stranded” in Copenhagen for a while before getting to move on cost us a travel day but it is what it is really.

We were suppose to arrive in Amsterdam just after midnight but due to the delays we didn’t arrive until 9am the same day but it turned out alright, tons of close calls to make the different transfers between trains. We had one train we had to get off at a train split since it wouldn’t make the connection in time but it turned out alright we managed to make it all the way to Amsterdam in one piece in the end.
Well how was Amsterdam? In my experience from our 2,5 days of Amsterdam I must say that I love the city, tons to see! Old buildings, a lively night life, AMAZING food, from what I’ve had, way better then the food we have in Sweden, without a doubt. It sounds weird look a bit different but tastes gorgeously. We tried probably every Dutch food known to man kind when we were there, not sure how to spell them but I’ll do my best! Also sorry for no pictures of this, they went down so quick I forgot to take pictures.
Croquettes : A fried snack, looks like a thicker and longer cheese stick but it’s filled with potatoes and calf meat.
Bitterballen : basically the same as the croquettes but shaped as a large meatball instead.
Frikadel : This was a weird one for me, closest thing to me was a long meatball with tons of spices. Really good though!
Kibbeling : easiest way to explain it is fish & chips without the chips. It’s fries fish in bite sized bits with mayonnaise and that’s it, super tasty as well!
Poffertjes : Amazing! These are mini puffed up pancakes, coin sized topped with powdered sugar.
Stamppot : Is a whole meal that consist of smashed potatoes with one or more vegetables served with Rookworst which is a Dutch sausage.
Stroopwaffel : crazy good, these are addicting I bought 2 bags with me home, they go down scary fast be aware!

Now there’s tons of other good foods and snacks around the Netherlands but since we tried so much it would be impossible to review it all.
Amsterdam has tons of other great things to do besides eating. The city is filled with beautiful architecture and old buildings during the day and a lively and vibrant nightlife with neon signs outside every open store, the classic red light district and small snackbars on every corner. We saw tons of things in Amsterdam city halls, main station, Amsterdam Square, The canals, Redlight, some landmarks and much more.

The canals of Amsterdam, really worth seeing, they had small tour boats you could take through the canals if you’d be interested but we didn’t do it.

These are just some bits and bops of the city, really nice to just walk around and take the architecture in.

Then of course we have red light the most visited place in Amsterdam by tourists. For me this was a total culture shock, the smell of Marijuana around the district, sex workers in the windows from basement to 3 floors up. Not only that there were weed shops on every other street “magic mushrooms” was also sold at vendors and there were even signs stating that you should not take drugs from street sellers only from Legitimate vendors.
Besides that we had a great time in general, we had the absolute luck to be able to sleep at one of my mates house that lives in Weesp just outside of Amsterdam making the food, drinks and in general shopping a lot cheaper then it would be in the city center. There’s not much more to it than that for us but there’s tons more to see in Amsterdam as you can see on one of my past post named “Pre-Amsterdam”

But before I close this post up, I’ve acquired the pins, Denmark and Netherlands is now secured, thought that would be a good concept instead of the regular country flags on the bags. Any how good day everyone, I’ll update you guys on Paris when it’s done.
Brought to you from a seat on a train somewhere in Europe, Antee out!
